1. Privacy Statement. Nucor Corporation and its affiliates ("Nucor") operate the following web sites:,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (the “Sites”). Nucor takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. The following describes how and why we collect your information, what we do with it and what controls you have over our use of it. By using any of the Sites, you unconditionally agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.
2. Registration. When you make requests for information through the Sites or register for an account with any of the Sites, we may require you to give us your name, address, phone number, email address, type of entity and/or any other relevant information. If you are ordering products or services through the Sites, we may also need to know your credit/payment card number and expiration date. We use the information you provide to send to you or provide you with access to information (either that you specifically requested or that we believe you may find useful) and to process orders, forms, and questions submitted by you..
3. Submitted Content. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any non-personal content, information or materials that you submit or send to Nucor through the Sites or by e-mail, including any ideas, suggestions, concepts, methods, processes, systems, designs, plans, diagrams, specifications, techniques, business information, inventions, creative works, works of authorship, or know-how or product information. If you want to keep such content, information or materials private or proprietary, do not disclose them to Nucor.
4. IP Addresses. IP addresses are used by your computer every time you are connected to the Internet. Your IP address is a number that is used by computers on the network to identify your computer. IP addresses are automatically collected by our web server as part of demographic and profile data known as "traffic data." In certain instances, Nucor may link your IP address to your personally identifiable information.
5. Referers. A “Referer” is the information passed along by a web browser that references the website that you linked from to reach one of our Sites, and is automatically collected by our web server as "traffic data." In certain instances, Nucor may link Referers to your personally identifiable information.
6. System Information. System information we collect as part of "traffic data" includes time and date that you access the Sites, the type of web browser you are using to access the Sites, the operating system/platform you are using, and the CPU speed of the computer you are using. This information is sent automatically by your web browser when you are connected to one of our Sites. In certain instances, Nucor may link collected system information to your personally identifiable information..
7. Cookies and Web Beacons. Cookies are pieces of information that a Site transfers to your hard drive to store and sometimes track information about you. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can change your browser to prevent that. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of our Sites if you do so. Cookies are specific to the server that created them and cannot be accessed by other servers, which means they cannot be used to track your movements around the web. Although they do identify your computer, cookies do not personally identify you or your password (as applicable). Credit card information is not stored in cookies. We also may use web beacons to collect non-personal information about your use of our Sites. Web beacons are tiny graphic images that are placed on a web site or in an e-mail and used to monitor the behavior of the user visiting the web site or sending the e-mail. The information collected by web beacons allows us to statistically monitor (i) how many people are using our Sites, (ii) how many people open our e-mails, and (iii) for what purposes these actions are being taken. Our web beacons are not used to track your activity outside of our Sites. In certain instances, Nucor may link non-personal information from web beacons to personally identifiable information. Since web beacons are used in combination with cookies, if you disable cookies, the web beacons will only detect an anonymous website visit.
8. Use of Collected Information. We use the traffic data we collect, including IP addresses, Referers, and system information, and the information from cookies and web beacons to generate broad demographic information that we can use to better administer our Sites and improve the user experience of visitors to our Sites. For example, we use the information to estimate our audience size and patterns as well as to track preferences of visitors. Furthermore, if you have an account with one of our Sites, we may use the collected information to identify who you are and to access your account information.
9. Sharing of Information. Except as stated below, Nucor will not sell, rent, license, exchange or otherwise disclose any of your personally identifiable information with a third party without your permission. Contractors that we have hired to provide services on our behalf may have access to your personally identifiable information, however, such contractors are required to protect this information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy by, for example, not using the information for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for Nucor. Some of your information may be shared on an aggregate basis only, as a part of a larger set of statistics (for example, aggregate statistics), but that information will not include any personally identifiable information or otherwise be sufficient to permit the recipient to identify you. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Nucor may disclose personally identifiable information without your permission in the following limited circumstances: (i) if required to comply with the law or legal process; (ii) to protect or defend Nucor’s rights or property; (iii) to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the Sites, including violations of the Terms and Conditions Of Use of the Sites; or (iv) to protect the personal safety of the public or other users of the Sites. In the unlikely event of a sale of some or all of our business, we may disclose your personally identifiable information to a purchaser that agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.
10. Other Web Sites and Links. The Sites may contain links to other web sites. The privacy practices of those web sites are not covered by this Privacy Policy and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.
11. Location of Storage. Information which you submit via our Sites is stored on a computer located in North Carolina and Indiana. This is necessary in order to process the information and to send you any information you have requested. However, information submitted by you may be transferred by us to our other offices, which may be situated outside the United States. All of our offices comply with the terms of this Privacy Policy.
12. Security. We place great importance on the security of your information. We have security measures in place that attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your data that is under our control. We use secure socket layer (SSL) encryption to protect the transmission of the information you submit when you place an order on one of our Sites. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Nucor cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk.
